As second semester rapidly approaches, the Michigan Youth Leadership Conference is just around the corner! Clarkston High School will select two students to represent CHS at the MYLEAD conference.
This year, in order to be selected for this opportunity, students must complete a one-page essay explaining their interest in the conference, what they would add to the conference as a CHS representative, and what they would bring back to our school as a result of this experience. The deadline for this essay is Wednesday, December 13th and counselor, Miss. Carolin looks forward to receiving applicants as soon as possible.
Do not forget about this date if interested in this fantastic opportunity, as no late essays will be accepted.
Following submission of essays, interviews will be held for individual students to discuss their essay and interest in the MYLEAD conference.
According to mylead.org, students will spend a weekend sharing ideas, listening to community members, motivational speakers, and learn more about themselves through goal setting and fun leadership activities!
The CHS Paw Prints asked junior, Amy Coomer, about her experience with the MYLEAD conference. She responded with: "MYLEAD honestly changed my life! We attended many different workshops and lectures about leadership and evaluating our future. I made so many friends that I still talk to very often! I left MYLEAD with a new family, and I could not be more thankful that this experience happened to me."
Don't miss out on an opportunity to meet new faces and gain self discovery!
