Emotional Support

There are many services available within our community for parents and students to turn to if they are struggling with social and emotional issues. Counselors are available to meet with students in crisis, and will then refer students and parents to outside community resources for more extensive help. While the CHS Counseling Department strives to meet the needs of each student, it is important to remember that counselors do not provide therapy within the school setting.

Balance Life Counseling  Provides telehealth therapy accepting most insurance for all ages.

Clarkston Family Therapists  Provide psychotherapeutic counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families as well as Psychological Testing for students.

Common Ground Sanctuary  Is a nonprofit crisis intervention agency. Our mission is to provide a lifeline for individuals and families in crisis, victims of crime, persons with mental illness, people trying to cope with critical situations and runaway and homeless youth.

The Counseling Studio Clarkston Specializes in divorce transition, adolescent therapy, women's issues, self-esteem challenges, depression, anxiety, family Counseling, parenting support, grief counseling, stress management, conflict resolution, and high achievement pressure.

Ellie Mental Health Providing individual, couples, online, family, play grief, and trauma-informed therapies.

Giesken Counseling Services  Provides therapy services for children, adults, teens, individuals, family and couples counseling, including art therapy.

Great Lakes Psychology Group  Provides therapy and counseling for children, teens, adults, couples and families. Psychologist serving the cities of Clarkston, Lake Orion, Oxford, and Auburn Hills.

Grey Street Counseling and Wellness Center  Provides counseling to individuals ages 3 and older.  Specialties include: anxiety, ADD/ADHD, behavioral issues, coping skills, depression, divorce, developmental disorders, eating disorders, family conflict, foster/adoption, gender identity, grief and loss, neglect/abuse, nutrition, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, peer relationships, relationship conflict, self-esteem, sexual identity, stress, suicidal ideation, and trauma.

Havenwyck Hospital  Provides a continuum of individualized treatment to children, adolescents and adults needing psychiatric and/or substance abuse treatment.

Kind Mind Counseling Providing individual, couples/ family, children's and telehealth therapy for a variety of issues and life factors, focusing on each client as an individual.

Life Stance Health (formerly Advanced Counseling Services)- Providing in-person and telehealth therapy, along with psychological services.

New Oakland Child-Adolescent & Family Centers  Is an outpatient and partial hospitalization psychiatric clinic providing services to children, adolescents, adults and families.

North Oakland Family Medical Center   Provides a full range of mental health services for all ages.
