Dear CHS Parents, Families, and Friends,

We know that summer is a wonderful opportunity to rest, relax, refocus, and reset ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually. It is our hope that you and your student can carry this positive momentum right into the start of the 2026–2027 school year.

While summer at CHS is always active, this year has looked a little different. Typically, we host a wide variety of performance, athletic, and co-curricular programs alongside community camps. This summer, however, our campus has been buzzing with major capital improvement projects. Some of these upgrades will be immediately noticeable when students return—such as improvements to our parking lots and activity facilities—while others will be "behind the scenes," including HVAC, roofing, flooring, entryway, and security updates.

Far from just taking the summer off, many of our staff members have spent these months investing in their own professional growth. They have participated in professional development, college and continuing education courses, and book studies, all while coaching sports teams, working with musicians, supervising extracurriculars, and chaperoning student trips.

As we embark on this new school year, I will be encouraging our students to step outside their comfort zones to embrace new experiences, meet new people, and connect with our staff. There truly is something for everyone at CHS. Research consistently shows that students who take ownership of their learning and get involved make more meaningful academic gains while growing more confident and socially and emotionally well-adjusted. I encourage you to challenge your student to try something new this year, whether it is a new activity, a new friendship, a new hobby, or a fresh experience. They might just surprise themselves with what they discover along the way.

Finally, I am happy to say we are once again fully staffed with high-quality, exceptional educators.  Best of all, they are wonderful, compassionate people who are dedicated to supporting our students. The Clarkston community is truly a special place to call home, and CHS is proud to be an extension of that community.
